Ergonomic assessment.

An ergonomic assessment identifies the specific workstation, tool, or postural risk factors contributing to your symptoms and gives you an actionable plan to address them. At Motion Theory, ergonomic assessment is integrated into your clinical care rather than delivered as a standalone report, connecting your physical findings directly to your occupational environment.

Who It's For

Office workers, healthcare professionals, tradespeople, and anyone experiencing musculoskeletal symptoms that are worsened by or originate from their work environment. Particularly relevant for remote workers, heavy computer users, and those in new roles.

What We Assess

We review your workstation setup, assess your postural habits, and correlate your physical findings with the ergonomic risks identified. The result is a specific, prioritized action list, not a generic checklist.

Treatment Approach

Where appropriate, ergonomic assessment is paired with hands-on treatment addressing the musculoskeletal consequences of the ergonomic problem. Education on workstation optimization, micro-break strategies, and sustained posture management is central.

Common Questions

Can you do a remote ergonomic assessment?

Yes. We can review photos or video of your workstation as part of your assessment, which is particularly practical for remote workers.

Will my employer pay for an ergonomic assessment?

Many employers cover ergonomic assessments, particularly where occupational health policies are in place. WorkSafeBC may also fund ergonomic assessment as part of a work injury claim.

Does ergonomic assessment fix the pain, or just the workstation?

Both. Ergonomic changes reduce the ongoing provocative load, while physiotherapy treatment addresses the tissue damage that has already occurred. Both components are needed for lasting resolution.
