Who In-Home Physiotherapy Is For

In-home care is not for every patient — but for these groups, it is the most appropriate and often most effective option.

Post-surgical patients

The first 2–4 weeks after a major surgery — knee replacement, hip replacement, ACL, spinal surgery — are often impossible to manage with clinic travel. In-home care bridges hospital discharge to functional recovery.

ICBC / MVA claimants

Serious motor vehicle injuries can make travel painful and impractical. In-home physiotherapy is covered under ICBC Enhanced Care where clinically appropriate, and we coordinate billing directly.

Older adults and fall risk

Assessing mobility and fall risk inside the patient's home is far more clinically valuable than in a clinic. We can modify the home environment and prescribe exercises relevant to your actual surroundings.

Neurological conditions

Parkinson's disease, stroke recovery, and MS management often benefit from home-based care where the therapist can assess function in the actual daily environment and adapt the home for safety.

Patients with mobility barriers

Chronic conditions, complex injuries, or situations where sustained clinic attendance is not feasible. Home-based care ensures recovery does not stop because the clinic is inaccessible.

Post-partum and new parents

Returning to physiotherapy after giving birth is easier when care comes to you. Pelvic health, diastasis recti, and musculoskeletal pain can all be addressed in-home in the early months.

Simple process

How It Works

01

Contact us

Call (778) 742-5668 or complete the form on this page. Tell us about your situation and we will determine whether in-home care through PhysioHome is the right fit.

02

Initial assessment

Your physiotherapist visits your home for a full clinical assessment — the same depth as a clinic initial appointment. Your injury, history, goals, and environment are all evaluated.

03

Treatment begins

Hands-on manual therapy, exercise prescription, and patient education in your home. Your physiotherapist adapts treatment to your space and brings all necessary tools.

04

Seamless transition

When you are ready to progress to clinic-based care for advanced loading and equipment, Motion Theory is ready. One plan, both settings, no gaps.

What to expect

What a Home Visit Actually Involves

A home physiotherapy visit follows the same clinical structure as a clinic appointment. What changes is the context — and that context is clinically valuable.

Your physiotherapist can observe how you navigate your actual environment: your specific stairs, the chair you actually sit in all day, the shower you need to safely get back to. This is information a clinic examination cannot capture.

Resistance bands and bodyweight exercises form the backbone of home programs — effective, progressive, and well-matched to the home environment. For phases requiring loaded gym work, the transition to the clinic is coordinated directly.

Detailed clinical assessment

Movement, strength, range of motion, neurological testing — same depth as the clinic.

Hands-on manual therapy

Joint mobilisation, soft tissue work, myofascial release — delivered in your home.

Exercise prescription

A progressive home program specific to your space, equipment, and goals.

Environment-based assessment

Your actual stairs, furniture, and daily environment evaluated for function and safety.

ICBC / insurance documentation

All clinical notes and billing managed by your physiotherapist, same as the clinic.

Coordinated with Motion Theory

Shared notes, shared plan — whether you see us at home or at 1367 West Broadway.
